Barclaycard

"Plant"

22 February 2023

30s

It's quite easy being green.

This Barclaycard spot makes you wonder how many office plants have died over the years. Bought with good intentions, they soon perish due to a lack of water or too much tea and coffee (who knew plants hated dregs?) However, not all greenery is doomed from the start.

Before Axel’s Autocare used a card reader, the plant in reception feared the worst. Staff were too busy with manual payments and laborious stock takes to water the poor thing—thanks to the advertised device, neither pose a threat to plant life anymore.

The work invites business owners to consider how Barclaycard technology can improve staff wellbeing and make their premises more welcoming. Those who let too many plants die on their watch also have a shot at redemption.
