B & Q
"Prices. Nailed"

Hammer time.
Bank holiday weekends are upon us, and B&Q are determined not to let seasonal DIY fall victim to the cost of living crisis. That's why the brand have guaranteed prices on "hundreds of spring essentials", some of which feature in this topsy-turvy new commercial from agency Uncommon and directors The Glue Society. We see the usual B&Q suspects like tools, paint, garden equipment attached to wires, as are groceries, household goods, and other possessions. Since the ad is shot upside town, everything is moored to the ground, not hanging from the ceiling—when cut loose, vulnerable items soar. This represents the continued impact of inflation on consumer spending—a mess that seems to gets worse every week. Beneath these afflicted items are goods sold by the advertised retailer, their prices nailed to the ground, so to speak. For once, the downside has an upside.
