It Must Change

Antony Hegarty may have changed her name in Anohni, but her stark, soulful voice remains the same. It powers 'It Must Change', a track concerned about structures and shackles ("The city in your head/Collapsing walls and lеad, it must change'), but not devoid of hope ("The truth is that our love/Will ricochet through eternity").

She's heard but not seen in Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard's topical promo, with transgender activist Munroe Bergdorf front and centre instead. She's a strong presence throughout, lit by shades of blue, purple, and red as she lets the song almost course through her.

Elsewhere, Anohni's lyrics find their way onto bridges, buses, buildings, and other urban objects that have seen better days. Though delivered with an ethereal voice, the words carry enough heft to mark steel and concrete.
