Creative Cavort
This atmospheric film for the Victoria and Albert Museum celebrates creativity as being what makes us uniquely human. The suspenseful opening shots evoke classic horror, as faceless mannequins and images of people with their heads covered give way to spiky choreography. Director Georgia Hudson uses dramatic lighting to great effect here, throwing the main figure's attire and accessories into stark relief as they explore the museum's exhibits. Buckets of attitude characterise the performance, which adds to the piece's modern yet out-of-time feel. It's a challenging ask to bring movement and interest to something as static as a museum collection, and Hudson and co. have more than risen to the task here. This dynamic film brings the V&A to life, and will have guests raring to return now pandemic restrictions have been lifted.
