"Behind the Curtain"

The rainbow connection.

Laughter, the old saying goes, is the best medicine. In an ideal world, tickling the funny bone would be all the treatment a child needs, but the Theodora Foundation in Switzerland know that surgery, chemotherapy, etc. are necessary evils. To distract patients from their treatment, the hospital have Giggle Doctors on call.

The first chunk of Luke & Joseph's poignant ten-and-a-half-minute epic centres on the Giggle Doctors’ spontaneous and crafty approach to storytelling. Where others see curtains, rubber gloves, and oxygen masks, they see potential - the building blocks for a story called 'Rosie and the Rainbow'.

If part one was a behind-the-scenes documentary, part two is 'Rosie and the Rainbow' in all its glory: a handmade tale of underwater exploration, shadow monsters, and - most importantly - courage. So long as children like Rosie need a dose of escapism, the Giggle Doctors will rise to the occasion.
