Crossed wires.

The first line of dialogue in this Squarespace commercial is, "Mum, nan's selling naughty vids again!" Viewers must wonder what kind of sleazy content they've stumbled upon, or if they've misheard the young man on the sofa entirely—either way, they must stick around to be sure. As opening gambits go, it's a doozy.

Turns out nan and her friend just knit aubergines and peaches as their side hustle—low-hanging comedy fruit plucked well by director Raine Allen-Miller and production designer Anna Rhodes. Yet this is not the only home business on Squarespace Street.

Allen-Miller flits between a nude model, a hairdresser, and a sneaker critic, to use their official titles, though the cast's cheeky descriptions are more fun. Though the brand's advertising has almost always skewed American, this has a very British flavour.
