However, the now recovered actress takes her reputation in stride in this amusing spot for Planet Fitness, emphasising the gym chain's ability to foster personal transformation.

Director Andreas Nilsson leans into Lohan's self-aware sense of humour here, as paparazzi photographers weep hysterically at her new, healthier approach to life. Cameos from William Shatner, Dennis Rodman, and Danny Trejo add further star power to the 30" film.

Gags about mental acuity and bedazzled ankle bracelets are delivered with aplomb, as the piece jokes about Lohan trading "DUIs for DIY". It's an entertaining take on self improvement, and should be warmly received even by those who don't remember the actress's downward spiral from Parent Trap to party fodder.
