Two steps forward, one step back.

Cillian Murphy emphasises the importance of moving in the right direction in this portentous but beautifully filmed commercial for Montblanc. The Irish actor is moving forwards through a variety of settings in which everyone else is moving backwards, as he asks whether we would change anything if we had the opportunity to go back.

Because the first vignette is set in a theatre, Murphy's own beginnings as an actor spring to mind, and it's as though he is questioning whether he took the right path. Fans of hit TV series 'Peaky Blinders' would unquestionably testify that he did.

Ian Pons-Jewell has provided exactly what you would expect of a director of his calibre when handed a script like this... it isn't quite enough to rescue it from its laboured gravitas, but DAVID is guessing that most viewers might not notice that because of the beauty of its star, and the director's skill.
