60s

Meet the flockers.

False starts have been part and parcel of the pandemic for many sectors, but few have suffered quite like the airline industry. Though travel restrictions have almost disappeared entirely, plane crashes and sky-high jet fuel prices continue to test brands' resolve.

However, EasyJet reckon people should spread their wings like the cast of this whimsical 60" commercial. Led by members of the cabin crew, holidaymakers flap their arms and take flight en route to city breaks, beach vacations, and more.

The human is flock well-realised by director Nick Ball, who tracks those who break off to enjoy their respective destinations. One woman's headfirst dive into a lake nails the sense of release felt by anyone who's dreamt of the great escape after two long years.

Meanwhile, Eumir Deodato's 'Also Sprach Zarathustra'—a jazz-funk take on Strauss, no less—proves an inspired soundtrack: each trip is momentous in its own way, but also frivolous and not to be taken too seriously.
