Previous Company of Heroes games have covered both the Western and Eastern Fronts of World War II. The latest, Company of Heroes 3, takes place in North Africa, and receives a dramatic trail courtesy of Platige Image and director Tomek Suwalski. The film centres on a woman shocked to see tanks on the horizon. These "iron beasts" fire at will, as Suwalski and DP Piotr Uznanski capture each shell in vivid, destructive close-up. All the protagonist can do is run and cling on to the beautiful fabric she's just bought. A well-judged blend of CG and live-action footage emphasises the human cost of war and avoids glorification. If Sega and Relic Entertainment can inject such reverence into a real-time strategy game, it would be some achievement.
