"No More Red"

A stark statement.

Arsenal's FA Cup third-round tie against Nottingham Forest on Sunday was notable for two reasons. First, the latter beat their Premier League rivals 1-0. Second, the Gunners replaced their signature red-and-white kit with an all-white number. As this powerful accompanying film explains, this was more than a simple fashion statement.

Actor, musician, and Arsenal fan Idris Elba observes that the Emirates Stadium is a beacon for youngsters who wish to become the next Bukayo Saka, Leah Williamson, or Emile Smith Rowe. Yet, instead of looking forward, these kids are forced to "look over their shoulder" as knife crime dominates everyday life.

Death and life-changing injuries not only rob friends and families of their loved ones, they also rob the club of their future heroes. This why the club and kit manufacturers Adidas have called for 'no more red' on the streets of London.

Such stunts are often accompanied by a garish invitation to pre-order yet another pricey, limited edition kit, but not here. The film makes the most of its primetime slot and conveys the severity of the situation... as well as the role football can play in turning the tide.
