Talk to text.

Mobile network giffgaff's latest animated outing rises to the challenge of creating an ad which fully embraces deaf and hard of hearing viewers. The brand use an animated incarnation of Aleks, who first approached them with the request for more inclusive communication, which addresses the audience via well-rendered BSL. For those unable to interpret, there are text-like subtitles to translate.

It's an intriguing look at how the role of mobile phone works has changed over the years, since smartphone technology and greater accessibility across the board means that audible phone calls are the perhaps the least of how the next generation will communicate. Kudos to Stink Studios et al. for offering a glimpse at what could be to come.
