Precocious pictures

Supermodel David Gandy stars alongside a precocious cast in this entertaining ad from Vodafone. Drawing attention to the brand's Neo smartwatch designed for children, the film sees Gandy attend a photoshoot with a twist: his image is in the hands of the kids themselves.

Lovely performances from the juvenile actors enhance the ad's humour, as aptly named photographer Little Jpeg takes a very grown-up attitude with his subject. Knowing turns from the adult cast members adds another layer of comedy, as one gets the distinct sense they're a hair's breadth away from corpsing.

This is well-considered work from director Benjamin Green, which is self-aware enough to deliver its jokes with a wink and not feel obnoxious for it. Kudos to the kid who casually insults Gandy's sense of style at the drop of a hat, too.
