Balls to the wall.

Sports Direct founder Mike Ashley isn't known for signing sprees, as Newcastle United fans will attest. Yet the much-maligned retailer's Christmas 2021 ad packs some hefty star power, with Emma Raducanu, Mason Mount, Fran Kirby, and Jack Grealish among the competitors in a sprawling snowball fight.

The action evokes Nike's 'Snow Day' ad from 2015, with signature tools of the trade used to launch the projectiles. We especially like Kirby’s cry of "SNIPER!" when golfer Andrew Johnston lets fly from a distant rooftop.

Directors Alex Motlhabane and Lewis Levi aka The Rest also draw likeable performances from West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and MC Big Narstie, who react to the snow with childish glee. How jolly will rivals JD Sports be after their Footasylum setback?
