Too Good

This vibrant promo for Arlo Parks's latest track 'Too Good' takes a stylised approach to romance. The film sees Parks in an enclosed set - a cartoon-like house in which she and her partner repeat the same actions over and over again to find that very little changes without putting in real effort.

Directing duo Bedroom balance humour and strangeness well here, creating a playfully uncanny atmosphere as Parks perpetually prepares apple pie after apple pie. Meanwhile, creative use of lighting and unexpected camera angles add to the sense of discombobulation.

A final nightmarish breakdown lends the film a storybook quality - a whiff of a cautionary tale about what happens when relationships are taken for granted and allowed to stagnate. It's food for thought... though perhaps not for actual consumption.
