Who Goes There?

Director Andy Lambert rounds off his latest ‘Mute’ trilogy with a short and sweet trip into the woods. Shot in one take and sans dialogue, the film opens on a Stone Age hunter-gatherer as he attempts to start a campfire - preferably without cutting his finger off in the process. More pressingly, he’s not the only person among the trees.

There is, of course, a twist in the tale, which is brilliantly handled by Lambert and his silent cast. Those contemplating a period of self-isolation - whether it’s for medical reasons or a general sense of despair about the world - will no doubt appreciate this irreverent spin on a life lived off-grid.
