"Merry Different"

Meet the cavalry.

According to this irreverent Channel 4 ad, Santa’s ready to axe Christmas 2020 altogether. While that's music to Chief Medical Officers' ears, some believe the holiday isn't beyond saving.

The cavalry includes the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, a Halloween ghost, Cupid, and a St. Patrick’s day leprechaun, who each have their own ideas about how Christmas can be salvaged. Some are, well, more disturbing than others.

Thus we get Cupid dreaming of a touchy-feely Christmas; the Tooth Fairy channeling her inner serial killer; and a half-arsed present delivery system from the Easter Bunny. Luckily, common sense appears in an unfamiliar guise.

The result is a wry, characterful plea for compassion and understanding after nine months of hardship. Certainly more persuasive than a Boris Johnson press conference.
