Unaccompanied Lives

A poignant outing from Ireland's road safety campaign highlights a little-mentioned risk of the road: unaccompanied learner drivers. Focusing on Noel Clancy's tragic story, it reminds viewers that there are issues beyond drunk and distracted driving which need to be addressed just as pointedly.

Clancy is an affecting narrator, as he relates the tale of losing his wife and child with dignity and evident emotion. His devastated account is accompanied by sensitively composed shots of where the accident occurred.

His description of his family's death is put in particularly striking terms - ones which will doubtless grab the attention of even the most preoccupied viewer. Emotive, urgent work from BBDO Dublin and director Zak Razvi.
