Missed points of view.

Stars of BBC comedy don some heavy-duty prosthetics in support of the brand's embattled iPlayer, with Natasia Demetriou (What We Do in the Shadows) and Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts) first in the make-up chair. Alas, the characters they play aren't as clued about the art of comedy.

Mocking the type of viewer who bombards Points of View with inane observations, the Parkers deride the aforementioned shows as unrealistic ("fourteen bedroom house, detached, mortgage-free!?") and inflammatory ("there could be vampires living on your road"). Thus, the garlic hobnob is born.

Asking Demetriou and Smith-Bynoe to riff on their own programmes like this is a neat meta touch, while Andy Parkman's script - with Tim Godsall's distinctive voice making a clear contribution as well - urges the target audience to get in on the joke and stream away. Of course, this is only the first step in a potentially bloody streaming war.
