Doesn't time fly?
While being tethered permanently to a smartphone feels like one of the inevitable consequences of modern life, Apple think they have the solution. This polished film, directed by Jonathan Glazer, takes a visceral approach to the freedom ostensibly granted by one of the fruit-based brand's smart watches. The beneficiary in this instance is a runner who suddenly finds herself launched into the air. From balletic poses struck while flying-slash-falling to rippling skin battered by the wind, it's a visually arresting piece of work - even her inevitable crash landing is handled with style. It's an unusual approach to portray both the joy and the terror of liberty, but it pays off beautifully here. Kudos to professional ‘air dancer' Inka Titto for a vertiginous lead performance, too.
