Outrunning the Competition

Another lovely communication from Nike here - this time starring controversial running champion Caster Semenya.

The South African star is known not only for her talent, but being the subject of 'gender testing' and the introduction of rules about female athletes having to lower elevated testosterone levels (according to some, specifically targeted at Semenya). Despite these challenges, she has nonetheless continued to compete with her dignity fully intact.

This self-assurance shines through the film, as Semenya tells critics that she's fully aware they'd rather she didn't compete - but that isn't going to stop her. Director A G Rojas presents a well-constructed montage to accompany her words, taking us on a vivid journey back through time.
