Cillit Bang

"The Mechanic"

6 January 2016

1 min 37s

Cutting through the dirt like a martial artist.

Ever wondered what Flashdance might have looked like if Jackie Chan had been cast in the lead role? No, neither had we - but thanks to this glorious commercial by Partizan's Michael Gracey we now have a pretty good idea.

This is from France so it doesn't have Barry Scott in it... which is nice.

Instead, it has a handsome young apprentice being thrown an old rag and the job of cleaning a filthy garage all by himself. His only company is a decent supply of the advertised product and he swiftly discovers it's all he needs as it cuts through the grease with improbable efficiency.

Once he gets into his stride, he begins sliding and jumping all over the place, leaving a gleaming surface in his wake. Gracey goes several miles over the top in his depiction of the glee the young man brings to his chore and - far-fetched though it may be - it provides a compelling case for Cillit Bang.
