Richmond Sausages

A chip to go with your sausages

Richmond and Saatchis have come up with a very clever idea to sell some extra sausages... a tracking device for your child's most beloved teddy.

Every parent will have learned to dread the loss of the one stuffed animal their offspring cannot live without. It's an attachment that may seem ridiculous to non-parents or to the unsentimental but it can feel like a very real emergency when child and 'best friend' are involuntarily parted with no prospect of an immediate reunion, and this 60" film taps into that with aplomb. When 'mum' tearfully reveals that 'teddy' is part of the family, a lot of mums and dads will know exactly what she means.

Brilliant, then, to offer a tracking device designed to solve the numerous cases of bears gone awol. 'Teddy' Snowden probably wouldn't approve of this self-inflicted blow to our privacy, but any parent whose child has lost their precious pal would probably accept 1984-style totalitarianism in exchange for its immediate return.

Good as it is, this idea may have a fatal flaw: punters are being given a chance to 'win' one of these devices... it would be so much more effective if one could be secured with a fixed number of vouchers from the sausages. Many parents will probably thank Richmond for the idea and then research and buy this device from elsewhere.
