Netflix's astonishing four-part drama Adolescence has captured the Zeitgeist like no programme before it, so it was an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to talk to its director - Phil Barantini.

Creators Inc director Phil Barantini helmed the Netflix drama 'Adolescence' which was added to the streaming platform on 13 March. In the three weeks since its release, it has become a cultural and political phenomenon, prompting conversations in every part of the UK, including the House of Commons. Its reach has not stopped there, as it has also become one of Netflix's biggest international hits.

Our Zoom conversation covered many aspects of 'Adolescence', and explored Phil's journey to the director's chair. It is rare to encounter someone willing to speak so candidly about the personal hurdles they have had to overcome, and to acknowledge and champion the contribution made by others.
