VCCP banks on Yan Elliott as Creative Director.

The redoubtable creative director Yan Elliott, whose CV has grown to the size of a giant redwood, has Barclays on the brain as he takes on the account won by VCCP in April.

The redoubtable Yan Elliott has Barclays on the brain as he takes on the account won by VCCP in April. There's more to life than money, however (or so DAVID's been told)—Elliott will serve as Creative Director on other accounts, too. You might say Christmas has come early for clients, but let's get Halloween out the way first, eh?

Chris Birch and Jonny Parker, Chief Creative Officers at VCCP, say: "Yan's written some of the greatest ads of our time—'Gold Spots' for Orange, 'What's the Worst That Can Happen?' for Dr Pepper, 'Believe in Better' for Sky—stuff that properly itself in culture, and now he's bringing all that brilliance (and mischief) to VCCP."

VCCP has a track record of making ideas that break out into the real world and become part of culture.

"On top of that, he once ran his own agency from a canal boat, which makes him officially cooler than the rest of us. He's a supreme talent, a lovely human, and we're bloody delighted he's here raiding the White Claw fridge with us." It's thirsty work, but someone's got to do it, right?

And does Elliott make of all this? "VCCP has a track record of making ideas that break out into the real world and become part of culture. That's always been my ambition, too—to create work that people genuinely notice, enjoy, and remember. I'm excited to join such a brilliant team who are hungry to keep pushing the work further."

VCCP

VCCP was founded by Charles Vallance, Adrian Coleman, Rooney Carruthers and Ian Priest with the aim of creating an agency which would undo the advertising industry's bad habits. You can argue the toss about whether this was an achievable target but you certainly can't dispute the quality of the work that's been created thanks to this aspiration.
