Tim Pope... Live at the Flamingo

Legendary pop video director Tim Pope reads excerpts from his soon-to-be-published memoir 'I Shoot Rock Stars' and answers questions about his life in front of a packed house at the Flamingo Club in Soho in our latest podcast.

Tim Pope is unquestionably one of the greatest directors of music videos of all time. Unconventional and defiant, he has always done things his own way and these qualities, along with his wit and his charm, make him a brilliant, if slightly tricky, interviewee... and when you listen to this podcast, recorded live at the wonderful 'Flamingo Club in Soho, you will hear all of it come to the fore.

Who's directing?

We are indebted in equal measure to Anna Tracey of Johnny Foreigner who not only suggested that we speak to Tim, but facilitated and brokered all the arrangements; IFNOTNOWWHEN for supporting the pilot edition of Live at the Flamingo; and to the wonderful Lee Pavey and Madeleine Rose Whitney for providing us with our fabulous venue. Viva La Flamingo!

You can pre-order 'I Shoot Rock Stars' now so that it lands disgracefully on your doorstep on 13th August.

Johnny Foreigner

Olivia Hirschberg moved from agency-side to production-side and spent a year in Chile as a service producer, long before she founded Johnny Foreigner—a company that matches directors to projects. Together with Anna Allgrove in the UK and Darrin Lee in the US, Hirschberg has turned Johnny Foreigner into a mecca for freelance directors. Those handpicked to join are coveted by agencies and production companies all over.
