The Den adds Jessica Mutascio to the mix.

US boutique edit company The Den has added Jessica Mutascio to its roster of talent, and they describe themselves as excited at the prospect of working alongside the talented editor.

Talented editor Jessica Mutascio is now being represented in the USA by the lovely people at The Den, and the boutique company could not be happier about the latest addition to their roster. Co-founder Christjan Jordan says: "Jessica is exactly the kind of editor every company dreams of having on their team."

Digging into the archive to learn more about Jessica Mutascio, DAVID has uncovered a pair of gems that exemplify her talent. First up is this ad for Bank of America directed by Mark Albiston that's an absolute masterclass of editing skill. Follow the progress of a golf ball after it's struck by an ambitious little girl and miraculously makes its way to the tee of a professional player. It demonstrates how an edit can help infuse an idea with humour that might not otherwise be there.

In this ad for Australian insurer Southern Cross (which was directed by J H Beetge), there are sixty-fix separate shots in its sixty seconds and the effect is mesmerising as it builds towards a crescendo without ever feeling rushed. The edit really serves the story as the viewer is enraptured by the pep talk being delivered by a grandfather to a child in his arms. It's a truly captivating piece of work, and much of that is down to its really outstanding whirlwind of an edit.

Little wonder then that The Den are so pleased to have secured Mutascio for representation in the demanding US market. Christjan Jordan again: "Her talent shines through in every project she touches, combining technical mastery with genuine artistry and adapting her edit style to whatever voice or tone is needed, which fits perfectly with the talented artists at The Den.

"But beyond her technical skills, Jess brings such a thoughtful balance of creative clarity and emotional intelligence to every project. She's intuitive and incredibly steady under pressure, with a quiet strength in the way she leads—never overpowering, but always present and deeply attuned to what both the team and the client need.

Jessica is exactly the kind of editor every company dreams of having on their team.

"There's something very grounding about working with her, and that consistency is part of what makes her such a trusted editor. Jessica's wonderful personality makes collaboration feel effortless and inspiring, and she makes people feel seen, understood, and supported. She isn't just skilled at what she does—she's the perfect fit for The Den's creative vision and values."

Meanwhile, Jessica Mutascio is just as effusive about her new home: "What attracted me to The Den is their impressive range of work, which speaks to my own versatility as an editor. I'm excited by the opportunity to collaborate with such a prolific team, and being on the ground in their beautiful new NYC office only adds to that excitement. I know that working in an environment that values creativity and adaptability—while offering the chance to work across so many different formats—is exactly where I'll thrive."
