Talia Beale—a director who sits inside culture, no less—is now on the global roster at Academy Films. Tottenham born and bred, she "moulds experimental images that tug raw surrealities into warped, relatable scenes, often rooted in the pulse of London's underground youth culture". She's not in the moment, Academy says—she is the moment.

Partner and managing director Medb Riordan also calls Beale "a rare force—a modern polymath whose creativity moves effortlessly across disciplines and platforms". Riordan adds: "As she steps into the global spotlight, we're honoured to welcome her to our roster and champion the next chapter in what promises to be a remarkable career." |
And what does Jennifer Byrne, Academy's Head of Development, have to say about Beale? "Talia is one in a million, an incredible talent who brims with curiosity and surprises me with unique references and ways of looking at the world. I want her to win. Not only is she a brilliant director, she is a wonderful human being. I can't wait to see what she does." |

The last word goes to Beale, of course: "Energy bleeds into everything I make. I move between film, music, performance, and visual art, stitching them together to build gritty, emotional, off-kilter worlds. I'm never just one thing—I'm always all." |
She adds: "Joining the Academy family feels like stepping into a bigger playground with sharper tools and collaborators! I'm super gassed to grow, take risks, and shape new visual worlds that feel like poems you can step inside." We'll need to wait and see if we have to take our shoes off or not. |
