Austrian director Thomas Cervenca is now on the books at REBEL, Rogue's guerilla army—sorry, developmental roster—and big fans of his latest release, 'Always Ketchup'.

Austrian director Thomas Cervenca is now on the books at REBEL, Rogue's home of fleet-footed, independent-minded talent. The move follows the release of 'Always Ketchup', a film about fish and chips done right. Shot in the town of Goldegg near Salzburg, it uses a fisheye lens (geddit?) to show how fresh ingredients and the right talent can elevate the humble fish supper.

He says: "'Always Ketchup' tries to do with its visuals what the restaurant is doing with the food: breaking conventions and challenging expectations around what high-end dining can look and feel like when it's less formal, more personal, and still top quality.

"The entire concept of the film was developed by me," Cervenca adds. "I really like their approach to the restaurant and saw a chance to make something creative and a bit unconventional and I tried to get the most out of what was possible with a very small budget. I had the creative freedom to bring every concept I had to life—nothing was off-limits, nothing was too much, and that kind of freedom is a rare treat."

His first meeting with REBEL leader Charlie Roberson was equally satisfying: "I love Charlie's energy, plus he immediately got me and my work. With this instant understanding I knew he'd be absolutely the right person to represent me in the truest way possible. I am really excited to see what I can do in London. I love the unusual and London is full of it."

On that note, Cervenca adds: "There are so many progressive brands out there and I can't wait to get the chance to really push my creativity with the weird and the wonderful. On top of this, I could see my name fitting very nicely alongside all the other REBELS on the roster."
