Director Tim Bullock, who co-founded Scoundrel Films in Australia, and recently joined the roster at Rogue in the UK, made time during a busy trip to London to talk to DAVID REVIEWS about his past, his present and his future.

Tim Bullock is a busy man. He runs Scoundrel Films, the Australian film production company he founded with Adrian Shapiro; he his one of the highest regarded comedy directors in the world; he has several feature films in development; and he recently joined Rogue in the UK. Despite all of this, he recently found time to sit down with Jason Stone of DAVID REVIEWS to reflect on how he got to where he is, and where he's going next.

Rogue

Rogue describe themselves as 'film warriors'. It's one of the more colourful descriptions you'll find when you click the 'about' button at a film production company website and it feels entirely the kind of thing you'd expect from a company co-founded by Charlie Crompton. Kate Taylor and James Howland now run the company following Crompton's 2025 retirement, but the spirit and energy of the company remain the same.

One of the so-called 'big three' film production companies in Australia, Scoundrel Films was founded by director Tim Bullock and producer Adrian Shapiro after they decided it was time to back themselves and create their own thing. The word they describe as central to their company's ethos is 'integrity', feeling that it describes their approach to the work, as well as their approach to their relationships both with their clients, and those who work for them.
