Off the back of films for the likes of Strawberry and DEFA Power, hospitable Canadian production company Dear Friend has signed Norwegian director Niels Windfeldt for representation.

Oslo born and raised, Windfeldt is a well-rounded talent who's also a photographer, skateboarder, and numbers guy (he graduated from the Norwegian School of Economics with a bachelor's degree, no less).

Dear Friend MD Garth Collins thinks Windfeldt is an economic boon in his own right: "Getting to know Niels as a person has been just as meaningful as discovering his work. He leads with curiosity, kindness, and a real openness, and that humanity is what makes him such a pure artist. The work comes from who he is, not the other way around, and you feel that in everything he creates."
