Jonny Tully calls grading "the perfect mix of art and science" as he joins Electric Theatre Collective on a permanent basis after a summer of freelance gigs.

Jonny Tully calls grading "the perfect mix of art and science" as he joins Electric Theatre Collective on a permanent basis. Tully, who freelanced for ETC over the summer, says: "I've been very impressed by how the department is run. The suites have been designed with collaboration in mind, and everyone is pushing creatively to produce the best work possible. The work is consistently recognised as some of the best in the industry and the many awards on the shelf reflect that. All in all, it was a bit of a no-brainer."

The former Smoke & Mirrors, Cheat, and No.8 colourist adds: "It's incredibly rewarding to collaborate with directors, cinematographers, and creatives—and ETC's collaborators are next level. I'm incredibly excited to bring my ideas to the table." He's got some of his favourite snaps to share if there's time ("All these years later, I still love taking photos…. the only difference is that nowadays they're usually of my children").

It's a picture-perfect move, as far as Head of Colour Connor Coolbear's concerned. He says: "We've had our eye on Jonny's work for a while, so the timing is serendipitous. Having been with us a couple of months now, he's already slotted right in, bringing fresh eyes, brilliant energy, and a sensibility entirely of his own. We couldn't be happier to have him here."

Tully arrives in good form off the back of projects like 'The Bridge' with director Yasser Abubeker. A promo for Kelela and PinkPantheress, it turns the artists' world a sensual, cerebral blue—Michael Mann fans will feel right at home here.
