New Signing

Andrew Macgregor

It's Artur Wolgers for Partizan.

It's a good time to be Artur Wolgers—not only is the Allsvenskan about to return (Wolgers loves Swedish football), but he's also signed on the dotted line for Partizan.

It's a good time to be Artur Wolgers. Not only is the Allsvenskan about to return (Wolgers loves Swedish football), but he's also completed a move to Partizan. When the company learned there was a chance to sign the comedy director, who's been around film sets and backlots since he was a nipper, they sure as hell jumped at it.

Executive producer Levi Rijper says: "Artur has a brilliant instinct for performance and nuance. His comedy is controlled and intelligent, so we're very pleased to welcome him to Partizan." That calls for a celebratory trip to Burger King, don't you think?

The brand has drafted Gordon Ramsay to hawk its range of wagyu-based burgers by having him disavowing any involvement with them while his presence provides the suggestion that this is top notch grub. This is a familiar role for the performatively irascible chef, so he and Wolgers know exactly how to play it.

This seems likely to do its job and arouse interest in what is an unusual move for a fast food chain. The main thing we all know about wagyu is that it's phenomenally expensive because of its quality, so perhaps this will even pique the curiosity of those who have migrated to the upmarket burger joints.
