Life's a Finch for Arthur Studholme.

Australia and New Zealand production company Finch, is pleased to welcome director and snake owner Arthur Studholme to its commercial roster.

Fans of Chris Morris and 'The Day Today' will be pleased to know that Arthur Studholme owns a corn snake called Colin Poppshed. Australia and New Zealand production company Finch, meanwhile, is pleased to welcome the director to its roster. He's already delivered two commercials for Suntory -196, in fact—when life gives you lemons, make chuhai.

The work prompts Studholme to say: "It's a given that the idea has to be really bloody good. But even a great idea can be squandered if not given the right tonal world. That's what really gets me out of bed—building an irreverent world that surprises the audience, tailor-made to the idea."

Finch MD Corey Esse likes his style... and his taste in sport: "Arthur and I first met at the cricket watching the Ashes—now that the Ashes are on again, it is the perfect time for him to be back in Australia. The first person to give us a job after this announcement can come to the cricket with us."

As Finch and Studholme prepare for whatever comes next, check this superb promo for Welshy's 'All For You'. When Dave brushes fellow bus passenger Emma's finger by accident, he pictures a romance for the ages, complete with picnics, matching tattoos, and pottery à la 'Ghost'. If only his fantasy stopped there.

His power of touch soon draws the bus conductor and a nearby pug into his daydream, much to Dave's chagrin and Emma's delight. We won't spoil who or what makes this a fivesome, but it escalates the already bonkers affair brilliantly.

The way each interloper slots into Dave's original fantasy is also well done, whether it's the conductor's 'Tickets, please' grills or the tiny dog at the pottery wheel. Anchored by Thomas Gray's bemused lead performance, it's a witty accompaniment to a track that insists "Lovers come and go/But our love grows deeper and deeper".

FINCH

FINCH

FINCH is one of the leading film production companies in Australia and the work they produce is so good that they've acquired a worldwide reputation for its quality. It doesn't do them any harm that they seem to have a roster of directors perfect for making the most out of darkly funny scripts that this market is best known for, but there are many more strings to their bow than that.
