Priya Ahluwalia joins Black Dog Films. |

Director and fashion designer Priya Ahluwalia has joined Black Dog Films for global representation. The move coincides with the release of short film Beloved, Ahluwalia's nod to both Indian and Nigerian cinema. |
"Bollywood and Nollywood films were one of the few places I could experience people like me in ways mainstream media didn't represent us: love, joy, glamour, entertaining, passionate, vulnerable," Ahluwalia says. "Now, film has become one of my favourite mediums to showcase stories from my community, as well as my collections." |
Ahluwalia adds: "I love how film has the power to connect to its audiences, transport them and drive emotional engagement. [With Beloved] I wanted to showcase variations of love and companionship whilst celebrating the incredible cinematography and soundscapes of Bollywood and Nollywood." As well as a strong calling card for Ahluwalia, it's also her Black Dog Films debut, with global head Martin Roker eager to see what she does next: "The world that Priya has constructed through fashion and culture brings Beloved to the forefront. With Priya being a multidisciplinary creative, not only is she a perfect fit for Black Dog but this only strengthens both brands going forward." |
