Soho Social - April Edition

Wednesday, 29 April 2026 - 18:30-23:59

The Quarry's inaugural Soho Social will take place on the last Wednesday of April, and will then become a regular event on the last Wednesday evening of every month.

The Quarry is on a mission to remind everyone of the value of a good old-fashioned get together. Their Soho Social event has no agenda, is open to everyone, and costs nothing to attend. It will take place at The George in Soho's D'Arblay Street on the last Wednesday of every month and inaugural event will take place on 29th April. Four sponsors will be chucking money into a 'community pot' which means drinks will be free until the money runs out.

What's the catch? No catch. it's just a fantastic opportunity to shoot the breeze with other people in the industry, some you know, some you don't.
You mean we don't have to listen to a lame journalist - no offence - interviewing some industry bigwig about how great things were in the 1990s before we get down to the serious business of drinking and chatting? Offence taken! And, that's exactly right. No agenda. No rationale. No formalities. No speeches. No registration. Just a fun time being had by all.
Hadn't you better declare an interest? Yes! DAVID REVIEWS will be one of the inaugural sponsors. there is still a slot open if you'd like to put your hand in your pocket. It's a sweet deal... The Quarry is only asking sponsors to pay £250 each, which means there will be £1,000 behind the bar to pay for the first few rounds.
And peanuts? I guess.
What about a plate of chips? Don't push it.
How will they keep the riff-raff out? Riff Raff are welcome. As is anyone who works at any other film production company... or post house or advertising agency.
I see what you did there. I'm open and transparent, just like this event. Come along and make some new friends.

David Reviews

David Reviews

David Reviews has been providing independent reviews of TV commercials, pop promos and short films since 2002. With the other trade press increasingly inclined to bend to the demands of PR, David Reviews fiercely champions the idea that analysis is only meaningful if it isn't co-authored by those who made the work. It's not an approach that suits the faint-hearted, but you are always telling the world how brave you are... so.
