'Homie', featuring Meek Mills, is brought to you by Young Martha - the somewhat confusing moniker of Young Thug and Carnage (keep up at the back, there). Our last encounter with Young Thug came courtesy of Ryan Staake, whose promo for YT's track 'Wyclef Jean' was a brilliant example of how a music video can triumph despite the best efforts of the artist to sabotage it.

Happily for director Oscar Hudson though, the Thug has been more co-operative this time around - and therefore happily for us, Hudson has been able to achieve the vision he set out to create.

Whatever we think of the track, 'Homie' is - as a promo - pretty awesome. Hudson is becoming synonymous with intricate, in-camera pyrotechnics (see his promo for Bonobo's 'No Reason' and this lifts his game yet another notch.

From a demure start showing two young girls playing piano together, the camera starts to spin... and a scene of opulent dining takes their place. Young Thug looms into view upside down on the ceiling, seated at a table; and as he raps, a bullish heavy tucks into the food on the table while sinister waiters sharpen knives.

But the camera doesn't stop moving. Inexorably, it continues its rotation; making vertiginous loops which give us a vague sense of motion sickness that only increases as the heavy meets a sticky end on - the floor? The real ceiling? A wall? Hudson keeps us glued to the screen till the very end, at which point we just want to hit replay.
