UK Recruitment

Something reeks in this latest Monster.co.uk commercial... and it's not spaced-out desk jockey Kyle. Instead, the job recruitment site's resident furball gets a whiff of the viewer's potential - and he's determined to find the right job to match. It's another fun visit to the purple one's domain, and one that strengthens the brand's off-beat reputation.

A giant purple monster gets himself into a syntactic tangle in this entertaining ad for - surprise - recruitment company Monster. The big guy knows how special you are and proceeds to tell you in a vaguely threatening manner... at least until he gets tangled up in his own sentences and needs to pause for thought.

This ad for recruitment company Monster is dry as a bone and all the funnier for it. A woman has her CV scrutinised before she's introduced to the company's philosophy: Always Be Working ("like unlimited vacation... only the exact opposite"). Turns out even the boss's son isn't immune to the tyranny of 'abwah' - so choose your interviews carefully.

A man's nose grows Pinocchio-style because he's not being honest about how he feels about his job. He hates it and looks ready to throw himself under a train rather than face another minute in the soul-destroying office where we works but he plods on regardless.

If you find you're at the business end of a moose in terms of your career, here's your chance to bag a better opportunity. At least, that's what this 20 second spot suggests for the recruitment company. It's an arresting visual pun, and quite astute given that there's not much time to elaborate on the service.

This recruitment agency ad suggests most people are stuck in an appalling rut as they make their way through life aboard conveyor belts to which they are literally attached. They recommend that we find our own path by using their service to find a new job.

This excellent commercial demonstrates that there is the perfect job out there for everybody. A man strides through his home village on legs that are massively disproportionate. It turns out these are quite handy because it is his job to keep the world turning.

Another attempt to illustrate how your job choice can restrict your life. Whereas everyone else who is depicted in this commercial is forced to move along a specific path by the tracks before them, the man who has used monster.co.uk is able to move freely.

"Don't Fight Monday"

The idea here is that people are so dissatisfied with their jobs that they try to stop Monday from happening. An entire town of people evacuate their houses and run towards the hills with objects in hand in a desperate bid to deflect the sunshine of dawn.

"Why Do You Work?"

Ad poses the question: "why do you work?" Surprisingly, nowhere among the answers comes the obvious reply: "for the money". Instead we are offered a succession of noble platitudes suggesting people are far too polite to state the obvious.

monster.co.uk spectacularly abandon the irony of their previous work with a straight-forward film in which people are shown celebrating the new jobs that monster.co.uk has provide for them as well as an insight into a newer, happier version of themselves.
