Taken from their sophomore album 'Ash', Ibeyi's latest release 'Deathless' is about resilience in the face of oppression. Their regular promo collaborator Ed Morris interprets the song by showing the twins giving birth to each other over and over, without end. It's a simple and powerful idea. Naomi and Lisa-Kaindé Díaz have immense dignity and presence, and Morris has captured this yet again.

Ed Morris has followed up his utterly compelling video for Ibeyi's River with this piece for Ghosts. As gauzy and delicate as tissue paper, it shows the twins superimposed one over the other or over themselves, or simply out of register - 'ghosting'. Filmed in black and white, the video is grainy and strangely washed out, as if overexposed; lending a haunting quality to the whole.

This is one of those rare times when a video doesn't just enhance a track, it gets right inside it and makes us see the very essence of the music. It's an extraordinary song to start with - the voices of twin sisters washing over the riverbed of compressed percussion - and director Ed Morris has brought its beguiling, siren qualities to the surface.
