eBay draw out another character from their anti-beige campaign in this brief ad. We see a bloke gather all the equipment he needs to make music, from microphones to musical instruments, and get creative. He even picks up some snazzy new trainers for good measure, illustrating the diversity of products available from not-Amazon.

International Olympic Committee
"Become the Light"
90s
22 Nov 2017
This fetching Olympic film was shot at minus twenty degrees celsius. Think about that the next time you complain about the heating. Despite flirting with hypothermia, Smuggler’s Jaron Albertin and DP Tom Townend have returned with something special. Against glistening snow and pitch-black skies, the ad highlights various disciplines.

Paypal
"Trousers"
30s
22 Nov 2017
Made in Chelsea’s Mark-Francis Vendelli suffers a fashion faux-pas in this PayPal ad. While his co-star Georgia Toffolo endures I’m A Celebrity, Vendelli takes his new trousers on a test strut. Alas, someone else shares his questionable taste in keks. Good thing the payment app provides instant relief. Not sure flamingos are an improvement…

Soar
"It's Just a Phase"
2 mins
22 Nov 2017
Adolescence isn’t all teenage kicks and zero responsibility. Irish youth organisation Soar depict the highs and lows of teenhood. An impassioned narrator asks us to recount various teenage milestones: some positive, others negative, all part of growing up. The organisation appreciate such concerns and suggest they can offer positive guidance.

Havana Club
"Cuban Bar"
30s
22 Nov 2017
This stylish ad for Havana Club rum sees a series of bartenders get their cocktail on. Gritty set design and unusual camera angles and cuts combines with a pleasingly grainy grade to create a piece with a retro feel. A chilled electronic soundtrack lets the images speak for themselves - well constructed work with lovely editing.

Otto
"Feliz Navidad"
3 mins 11s
22 Nov 2017
German retailer Otto travel overseas for their Christmas ad. The ad focuses on a bus weaving its way through the Bolivian mountains. It’s a hardy vehicle - though it’s no match for a landslide. As travel delays go, that’s intense. Thanks to an exotic spin on travel delays, Daniel Mulloy’s Bolivian trip offers something different this holiday ad season.

Paypal
"Tattoo"
30s
22 Nov 2017
A bloke tries to undo a tattoo mishap with mixed results in this amusing ad from Paypal. He tries to update the impulse ink of an old flame's name to reflect his new beau... which isn't quite the romantic gesture he thinks it is. Amusing stuff to reflect the brand's promise to refund shipping on returned items - and good to see some casual representation of bisexuality too.

WWF
"Elephant's Eye"
60s
22 Nov 2017
This beautifully animated ad for the WWF shows the harsh realities of the ivory trade through an elephant's eyes. Live action and naturalistic animation come together to show the violent harvesting of ivory, and the difference the WWF's work makes to protect animals from poachers. Touching stuff which makes good use of it's clever central conceit.

Western Union
"Share More"
60s
22 Nov 2017
This montage for Western Union tells us to get out there and live life right now. The shots of exotic experiences and locations (Christ the Redeemer from the air, Holi, a lantern festival) are nicely arranged if a bit generic... although the guy proposing with a folded Euro bill is quite possibly the least romantic thing we've seen this year.

David Jones
"Gingerbread Man"
60s
22 Nov 2017
This charming ad for Aussie department store David Jones stars a globetrotting gingerbread man heading home for the holidays. The little guy collects presents for his family on his travels, passing through London, Paris, and New York on his travels. The snowy adventure comes to an abrupt climax, however, when an overenthusiastic dog gets involved.

Volvo
"Long Distance"
2 mins 45s
21 Nov 2017
This atmospheric ad for Volvo focuses on a long distance relationship... a really long distance relationship. We see one half of a couple leave on a mission to outer space, while her partner's car trip mirrors the journey. The pair communicate via the car's in-built call system, which results in some unsubtle product shots which nonetheless highlights the feature. Laid back stuff.

Tech Will Save Us
"Side Effects"
53s
21 Nov 2017
Unconventional brand Tech Will Save Us launch their range of toys for budding engineers in this excellent ad, directed by Somesuch's Raine Allen-Miller. The brand aims to give kids an early start in STEM fields, creating toys which encourage them to code and customise to their heart's content. The film plays with a familiar 'warning' message, twisting it to express some of the things creative kids can do with the right tools.

Three
"Wuntu"
25s
21 Nov 2017
This kinetic ad for Three highlights the brand's 'Wuntu' app, which gives their customers free stuff every week. Quirky animation shows off the kind of swag on offer - free cinema tickets, food, and music downloads - as it spills out into the real world. John Goodman's gravelly voiceover heightens the fun. Eye-catching work.

Three
"FaceTime Fail"
20s
21 Nov 2017
Those with tech-challenged relatives will appreciate this Irish Three commercial. Smartphone in hand, a woman enjoys a, er, face-to-forehead chat with her father. Despite dad’s insistence he’s “getting the hang of it”, mastering FaceTime is still a way off. Plenty of time to practice with the mobile network’s data plan, though.

White Claw
"The Legend of the White Claw Wave"
30s
21 Nov 2017
Surf’s up in this White Claw commercial. The alcoholic seltzer brand make some bold claims when it come to refreshment - not least “it’s like nothing you’ve ever tasted before”. Brian Brielmann's aquatic photography is easier to swallow than both this proposition and the advertised drink. Punters best stick to dry land after consuming the advertised product.

The FA
"Dance"
30s
21 Nov 2017
The Football Association’s player recruitment drive continues with a strobe light kickabout. English football’s governing body encourage everyone to get a move on. Accompanied by luminous pitch markings, this five-a-side team unleash an impressive dance routine. Well if you’re going to rub your opponent’s face in it, do it in style.

National Lottery Scratchcards
"Button"
30s
19 Nov 2017
Another pleasingly bizarre ad for the National Lottery's Scratchcards sees Harriet return for a second blind date. Jennie Bond narrates as we await the latest suitor with bated breath - only for him to come with a rather unusual accessory. Amusing, well constructed work which embraces its own weirdness to great effect.

Iceland
"The Gills"
30s
19 Nov 2017
Ahead of their official Christmas ad, Iceland have party season in mind with this 30” commercial. We join the Gill family as they host a crowded house. The advertised supermarket have the catering sorted which is nice of them... even if the son looks like he’d rather be anywhere else. Perhaps some of that “Ooooh!” pavlova will cheer him up.

Adagio Skyr
"Daydreaming"
52s
20 Nov 2017
Well, this is one way to fight the dreaded mid-morning slump. Adagio Skyr promote their new range with some excitable yogurt preparation. Nothing comes between this office worker and elevenses - paperwork be damned. While her colleagues look on, the protagonist raids her private stash. We're sure office managers will heartily embrace such behaviour.

BT
"Memories"
60s
20 Nov 2017
This touching ad for BT shows a relationship between grandmother and grandson develop over the years - brought together by a shared love of TV. From Peppa Pig to Star Wars, we see inter-generational affection play out, as the boy grows up and begins taking care of the woman who took care of him. Lovely, understated work.

Heathrow Airport
"Fifty Years"
2 mins
20 Nov 2017
Mr and Mrs Bair fly again in this lovely Heathrow Airport film. The two-minute ad charts the furry couple’s fifty-year romance. Time flies when you’re in love, eh? As the Bair family grows, so does Heathrow. Scored by Petula Clark’s ‘Couldn’t Live Without Your Love’, it’s another charming effort from Outsider’s DOM&NIC - a worthy challenger to this year’s other ursine blockbuster.

Lurpak
"Waited All Year"
36s
20 Nov 2017
While this doesn't have the elan of the original Lurpak work from W+K, it makes the Christmas food it features look pretty good and swerves a useful aide-memoire of the original campaign. Dark Energy's Mark Emberton clearly knows his way around the kitchen and it'll be interesting to see what he can do when there's more room to play.

BBC Sport
"Ashes 2017"
20s
20 Nov 2017
This animated BBC Sport promo transforms Michael Vaughan, Ricky Ponting, and co. into mad-eyed caricatures. Pundits from both England and Australia exchange friendly barbs ahead of the 2017/18 Ashes series. According to Vaughan, the Beeb are “all over” the tournament… on radio and online, at least. A cheap and cheerful trip Down Under.

Football Manager 2018
"Like A Boss"
30s
20 Nov 2017
While Premier League managers drop like well-paid flies, this Football Manager 2018 ad celebrates the joys of video game gafferdom. Whether it’s opening a letter or kissing the bride, every day is match day for this trio. While the groom risks an early sacking, creative agency MOX and Bullion’s Ben & Ross capture the game’s immersive quality.

Greater London Authority
"London Needs You Alive"
80s
20 Nov 2017
This inspirational ad for the Greater London Authority launches a new campaign to combat knife crime in the capital - London Needs You Alive. Rather than the grim approach taken by many anti-violence campaigns, directing duo Novemba turn the camera on young people so they can explain their value in their own words.

KFC
"Bucket Dance"
60s
20 Nov 2017
First DMX, now Sam Cooke - KFC’s 2017 playlist is certainly eclectic. The fast food restaurant cover Cooke’s 1964 track ‘Good Times’ in this harmonised Christmas ad. With a gymnasium as their stage, this step dance troupe provide soulful vibes with an improvised beat. At least we know who ate all the chicken...
